Hey, is there a section where we can post poems or can we create one?

I will make one.
Last time I made one though, it was flooded with stuff called poetry, that wasnt at all. Just sentences put together to make it seem like poetry. I thought since only a few posted real poetry, and it was being flooded with non-poetry, to not make one.
But if a member asks it, I will do it! The new Poetry section will be added in the Fandom area tonight, in between, above, or below the Artists, or Novelists section, but definately above the 'Other' section.

well, there is such a style as free verse, which sounds like what you are decribing. I've done most of my works in that style as that it's easiest.

I'm not even sure why I stopped writing. Lack of material/motiviation I suppose. Ha I used to free write alot and hardly ever use the 'rhyming method' alot of people use.

I just ran out of reasons to write poetry. I know I'm capable, but I'm not going through anything worth putting into verse. That's all I've ever really done with poetry, was vent.

Amen to that one. Haha motivation once again plays a major role. Its kinda like...I have a good idea and try writing/typing it down but then it turns to crap or I just lost the motivation to keep it going.

Motivation plays a role to everything. I got tired of thinkign of rhyming words.. as I like mine to rhyme

I could never make mine to rhyme and be good at the same time. Every time I got one to rhyme it was horrible or I found it lacking any real meaning or purpose.

I was actually pretty good, but then the verses tended to be slightly off. Thats another thing I was a stickler about. The verses had to be similar length, rhyme.. etc. Much like a song.

Ah I could never follow that kind of format. There was one I once wrote that combined some forms of rhyme with free verse. It wasn't half bad now that I think about it. Short but still decent.

I used to rhyme, but it's far easier to write in free verse for me.
So is anyone else going to post poetry, or is that section mine for the spamming?

Ill get to it if I can.
Also if you think about it, songs are also poems, so its kinda a song/ poem/ free write type area or something.
Ah, when I dont rhyme, the verses either have to be the same length in syllables, or they have to be similarities. Like.. Jeez, I dunnoe. Like novel to novelist and poem to poet. Kinda like what you did. I'm a real fan of the rhymes though, because it then sounds like a song of sorts and I can get into a beat.

If I get a chance I'll post an old one that I have to finish. All this talk of poetry's making me want to write again heh.
