Kie walked the streets of the laboring town. It had become one of the larger ones and was fortunate enough to have a rough barrier around it. Where the few centers of the smaller sub-countries had actual walls built, some even of stone, this one had a roughly built wire and wood fencing around most of it. It made no difference anyway, he had come to trade and buy a few items he couldnt get anywhere else, as well as stock up on dried food. He was used to and enjoyed sleeping outdoors. Being of elvin blood he found nature conforting, and the human structures stifling and crowded. He bore with it though. Even elves had their cities where buildings sat just as there were a few human towns that took to nature more willingly.
Sighing as he spent more than he had prayed to for a new hand blade (having suddenly given his to another for use), he took to mind that some were watching him carefully. It was true that he was among the minority and rare percentage here. His ears made him stick out like a sore thumb, and his all too cliched elvin hair pronouned to all that he was from elvin lands. It had taken him long enough to fix his bow under the long over cape he had to hide his physical abilities and attributes. Along with that, his quiver was hidden and a very short sword as well as his new knife.
He tucked his hair back and pulled over his hood. Maybe the reassurance of the shadow on his head would make him feel like he was being watched less. He looked to the sky. Storms were coming, he could see them, but he had a bad feeling as well. He sensed danger.

Kauri had made his way across some of the more unpleasant areas of the world, and was grateful to now find himself in the trading post town. However, he was a little disappointed by the state of the town.
He understood his appearence was not entirely human, but he did resent some of the staring. It was true he wasn't wholey human...but what wasn't human wasn't about to eat some one child. The half-elf sighed a little as he made his way through.
He wore a plain, brownish green cloak, carried a simple shortsword and a long bow, only because his short bow had snapped in a recent bar brawl he unwittingly stumbled into. He never thought much of his appearence...since his mother and father never once told him a half-elf would be shunned.
Either way, he was only here to replace his long bow for a short, get a new wetstone, and buy a few other basic neccesities. And, while he was the presence of some civilization, if one could call it such, he would get a warm meal that he didn't have to cook.
Kauri yawned as he made his way through to the smith, hoping they would have a wetstone and directions to a bow smith if they themselves did not have the bow he wanted.
(Sorry, took a while. Kauri is pronouced Cow-re...not Kari)

(Its quite alright. Kie is said as 'Key'. I got it from the last name Kithan, said the same way, 'Key-thaan' like Nathan. BTW, omg a Elvin and a Half Elvin. What an. odd appearance. Definately original! Now we just need about one of everything to make a truly amazing group)
There wasnt much else for him to do, but he had prepared to return only a few days later so he was in no hurry. Kie figured he might as well walk around, observe the status, and maybe catch an interesting word or two.
He had a long but small interest in the magic of the world, so whenever he had free time he always tended to keep an eye out for any shop or mage he happened to see, observe them, their apparent motives, and their probable strength. Besides that Kie found normal humans as boring and not too worthy of talk. Most normal humans tended to be farmers, while the abnormal ones being some few mercenaries of extra strength or a great swordsman here and there. Few he heard much more of. Mages were considered a different race (except in the elvin race, they were elves no matter what unless they performed some blasphemic action or joined some evil force).
Kie was just about to stop into the tavern he was fast approaching, have a drink or two, listen to the stories in there, when he found that doing so felt like such a wrong thing to do now. Yet again the dangerous feeling came to him. Naturally he took note of it. Feeling and living with nature had told him to do so, plus his heightened senses told him more than most other races could sense.
He looked to the shy again. The clouds had moved fast overhead and now blocked out the sun. The air was grey with their light and felt light, just as it did before a light storm. He looked harder to try to pinpoint the direction of the storm and the quickness of the wind, but for how fast it moved the wind was slow and not even coming from that direction. The storms were coming from thick woods perched on the edge of the rundown town, of which was mostly tied to the trees not being a big city that could clear out the trees. He worried as he disobeyed the fleeting feeling and went into the tavern.

Kauri sighed as he reached the smith, taking a deep breath he tasted something other than human town. A kind of smell, almost like sulfur. Taking a breath through his nose, he solidified his fear of rain.
Rain made it complicated for the half-elf to sit in comfort without running around and playing silly games. He looked over some of the smith's wares, paying for a wetstone and a small dagger. Not many humans in this area used bows, apparently, as there was not one to be found.
Giving the sky one nervous look, he made his way into the tavern after putting his new items away. His long brown hair, held back in an elven tie, hid the slight tip to his ears. Other than those small points and his clothing, he looked mostly human.

(You knwo whast funny.. I always said Kari more like Kahwri rather than kay-ri or whatever other way its said o.o)
Once inside he spent a long time listening to partial conversations. He heard alot of rumors, alot of myths, and there was even some man spouting nonsense of terror storms to come. The only storms that ever came here were midly flooding rains, Kie knew, because he had been in this area the few times there had been bad storms.
Right as he began to get bored though, only taken a few sips of his drink which he had paid full for, and he was about to leave when tension came about the room like a round clock wave. He coudlnt help but fall into line withit. He could faintly hear rumbling and some voices. He worried more now and cursed for coming in for a bit of relaxation. Kie had thought he could take a few minutes to himself and ignore the call nature had sent him of danger. He cursed himself again for ignoring it as he attempted to fight the flood that now rushed for the door. It was hard, the flood was mostly drunks, and Kie found himself irritatingly being shoved along the way rather than shoving the others.
