Set RPGs? as in table top RPGs such as Dungeons and Dragons, Vampire the Requiem, GURPS, or Shadow Run? Or are we talking about FFRPGs that have set rules and setting?

Set RPGs, as most of the people I know and who have already joined this forum that know what a SRPG is.. know them as this: Its an rpg where the creator has picked a time, place, and setting. Any number of those may be variable, but usually it is specific. Either characters have been made at a set limit, and members sign up for a character, or members post a character they made specifically for that one rpg and wish to use it there. When the desired number of members or characters have joined or been made (usually its indicated, partially in an attempt at a "Limited number, so enter quick!" type manner), then the creator can close the Set Up for the SRPG and make a new thread for the actual SRPG, or just begin it in that same thread.
It takes planning, and time, and usually the members have to have eithe ra specific personality and role to their characters, or enough freedom to do whatever they wish for it.
I personally liek some of them.. it allows for great planned things, where you can also bring in surprising new ideas. Its like knowing that an orange is round and colored orange, and then have someone come along and swap it with an orange-colored SQUARE orange.

No problem. Its pretty simple. Just what it sounds. A set rpg. Its set up so that only the peopel who signed up for it can play, with the exception of one or two adding or dropping if the creator or all members allow it and agree or whatever. Its kinda like having your own private rpg where others cant just jump in and all of a sudden ruin the storyline.
