Hiro took a deep breath, tasting and smelling the air, maybe trying to tell what Sesso was going on about. He liked what he smelled, it lacked the after thought of mankind's pollutions. It was even a pleasent taste in his mouth. It lacked all the foul after tastes of smog or paint.
He wondered a little, if they were really in another world, and not just another part of their own. There was no real way to tell it was cloudy and could be later than in their area.
He also wondered if he was leading them into danger...but he had a theory on fears, if you weren't sure it was there to fear, then you fear it. When some big ugly hobgoblin is drooling down your neck, you fear it. But you can't fear it if you don't know it even exists...
He yawned a little, and thought about the likelihood of running into trouble. He liked walking around without a set plan, made things more interesting, even if you were just walking around you own neighborhood.
"I'm guessing, you smell normal air, unpolluted...some how I doubt the locals use air fresheners to make their oak trees smell like pine," he said after a moment as he kept walking.

"The trees must be stronger here then, not running off pollution, so the sap and scents are stronger.." Riko noted and added at the same time. He had studied a bit in everything, but most of what he remembered was the nature stuff, the common sense things that were no longer common sense. He now didn't want to talk much for a short time. He liked listening to the noises. No cars, nor horns to blow out his eardrums when he tried to listen to the small things, no people yelling about what new musician or band came out.
And just like that he was bored of being silent as he had been bored of talking not long earlier. He wanted to talk just a little then. "I wonder how far it will be. Usually out in rural areas there are some sort of trail or crude road. There should be something soon, unless were out in the middle of a thick forest.." He looked around an denounced his 'thick forest' concept immediately. He knew he would. It was nowhere near thick, and you could see the sky easily. There was grass flourishing (which wouldn't under trees where it had no light with leaves falling on it constantly) and there were open areas. The floor was steady to walk on with no hills and rarely any larger rocks. Unfortunately rocks and divots were signs of rivers as he had come to know them so there were no rivers, but then again, that meant it probably rained steady in this particular place.
He looked toward the sky again. Even though they relatively hadn't been here long in their lives, they had been here quite a while. Riko could tell the sky was a bit darker, more black rather than the dark blue, and it was gradient the other way in preparation for the sun. He guessed it was probably about 1 am or so, give or take, if the times here were the same as their own world. And as it had been, what, 7 pm, 8 pm? he guessed from when he first found the Shimmer to when they actually went through? Funny how time flies, he thought, when you're having so much fun!

Sesso remained caught in his thoughts as he walked. His current mindset was one of confusion, awkwardness, and excitement, several emotions that never blend well together. There was so much that could be find in this unknown place and every new thing Sesso could find he would make a mental note of, afraid of showing off his untold excitement to the rest of the group.
Sesso would notice any detail not seen on his world (that is if this truly was another world or just another part of their world) and stay in awe until another significant thing would pop up in his sight.
"I guess....you're right. I got too excited I suppose..." he said talking randomly. He rubbed his eyes while yawning, a definite sign that he was tired.
He tried to not make it obvious as he didn't want them to worry (if they even cared that much for his well-being) or to hear complaints. The least of his concern indeed however, he still kept that detail in mind as he went about.
You know there could be a slight chance that you could...oh I don't know maybe not continue to act like a shy little school girl? Just maybe? More arguing with himself again. Those would usually spring up whenever he kept the old reliable bottle closed inside. He quickly shrugged the thought off and stay focus on spotting all of his new discoveries.

Hiro was making mental notes of other things, mostly making landmarks so he didn't walk around in circles. When they had found a place to rest, maybe he would focus on the furry weeds and trees.
For now he was quite content to walk carefully, making sure he knew how to get back to the doorway if things turned ugly.
As they kept walking, his red eyes spotted something like a torch flickering through the trees, but tried not show his excitement about it. He was happy to walk around not thinking about what homework he was purposely neglecting...but more than that, he was delighted to be in a new area with only his own wits and the two other boys.
He paused in thought there...had they even exchanged names before diving into this new world? What if they got split up from each other? Without a name to call out, how would that one work?
He laughed a little aloud, shaking his head to himself, trying to minimize his laugh into a light chuckle.
He glanced back at the others a moment, smiling like a fool, chuckling oddly as he fought to stifle it. Looking forward again, he contained his laughter and went silent again.
He was alright to have some one talking, and he was fine with no one talking...he was used to silence, for any reason, and he was used to chatter from his classes...he did, however, wish he had some kind of music to chase away that blasted song.
Either way, the albino trudged on.

As Riko was walking, he was being more alert. Usually any human walked with a sort of bouncing bob to their walk, a normal thing. But Riko didnt liek that too much, lots bounce, so he had worked for years to walk smoothly, or smoother. He could easily do it, but more over it was simply that his chest, shoulders, and head didnt move too much. This made it perfect for identifying movement and listening, as his head practically stayed on level (yes, like a birds, but not as wierdly!!! More in a natural way). And he was trying to pay attention to alot of things. He was turning his head sharply, much like those raptors form that movie.. was what it, he thought? Jurrasic Park or something? He had loved the way those raptors had moved. But not as much, he moved just slightly to focus. Of course, he had more of a peripheral vision line-of-sight. Mostly if it didnt move, it didnt interest him too much and it was considered normal and unimportant. Swaying of trees were constant, regular, and could be predicted, so it was much as if they werent moving at all.
Riko remenesced as he thought abotu this. He had been defeated so many times in a video game because the other player simply didnt move when he had looked that way. He was quite good at it to. On those scary times in the night when one would wake and peer ito the dark, RIko would rather stare at a point a few feet in front of his face and let his peripheral vision pick up any movement.
Often it happened to be a cat.
"What? What are you laughing at?" RIko asked the albino as he relaized he was snickering a bit in a hidden giggle. He was trying to resist the urge to be childishly curious.

Sesso stood still for a moment, puzzled at why Hiro was smiling and Riko's sudden question. He hadn't quite gotten used to the both of them yet and it would take a large amount of time to adjust to their....attitudes so to speak.
Sesso was normally more reserved and laid back then most of the people he knew which often meant he was lacking in the whole 'outgoing' department that Riko seemed to embody quite well. He "was really hoping to maybe strike up some of that untapped outgoing side of his. He
"Oh dear...." Music popped into the head of Sesso suddenly. A song he would rather not sing out loud for its contents were....embarrassing to say the least. Another old 80s song out of his time period and genre. He found it one day randomly and continued to listen to it ever since. A guilty pleasure of his that he wasn't too fond of at the moment.
"Sigh...I can't stop this feeling. Deep inside of me....wooo! Girl you just don't realize...what you do to me. Sorry thats been stuck in my head all bloody day...."
He slowly turned beet red and looked at the ground for a long time. Sesso was never this random or would speak openly. The environment presented him with a new challenge that he was sort of willing to accept. "I um....don't think I've introduced myself...I'm sorry I must come off as rude." he said quietly still looking down at the ground.

Hiro laughed a little more, looking at Riko, "Just thinking that I've said my name...but have no idea who it is I'm traveling with...trying to imagine what I would shout to find you if we got lost...'Hey!, kid with the long black hair! HEY!' I can see it now..." he laughed again.
He paused, stopped walking, looking at Sesso with a very amused grin on his face as he heard him belt out a verse. He contained his laughter, and simply grinned for a moment. "Well...as long as we're singing random bits of love song...mind if I join you?"
Hiroshi turned and looked through the trees ahead again, before sighing. The song he had in his own head was annoying enough, and now he had more songs...ones from Moulin Rouge...and worse part...he knew all the lines for the male lead...dammit...and there it was, ringing around in his head like a rabid animal.
"I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words...How wonderful life is now you're in the world." he sang, on key, and very well, but very quiet, not wanting to attrack too much attention.
"Damn...as if having one song in my head wasn't bad enough...now I have a full length musical running in there..." he mumbled angerily to himself.
He paused again, and started walking again. "So, we know me, Hiroshi, or Hiro. So, who are you guys? And what grades?" he asked haphazardly.

"Oh, yeah! I forgot about that! I didnt even notice.. Im Riko!! Not spanish rico, just Riko. Said the same way, but I never saw the connection..", he said the latter in annoyance. Every so often there was the person who spelled his name 'Rico' and preferably, it pissed him off.
He smiled and gave a little laugh at the songs though, bringing those back into play. Despite being active and friendly, he was quite reasonable and accurate. "You know.. not to be rude, but I bet if there were hostiles out here, we all attracted them. Me with blabbing, and you with songs." He felt he just had to state that, in case no one else had realized it. And as said before, sure he was active and friendly, but he was becoming a bit peeved. He was excited and interested in this new world, but he was a bit annoyed at the fac that one in the company was shy as all fuck. Riko secretly suspected the guy must have been date-raped.. by another guy. This made him laugh inside.
He was also getting a bit tired. More liek all the energy he had before was wearing off andhe was already bored with analyzing the information of the world around him.

"I can't say I know many musicals. By heart anyway...I think my 80s music spans out more and the random operas I've inevitably come across" Sesso grinned having found a new found confidence in himself to speak up more. Music has always brought people together, such as the case in this scenario.
He turned to look at Riko, nodding at what he had said previously. "You're right. However if we just talk and or sing quietly I think we'll be fine." This was quite true. In this new found land, anything or anyone for that matter could be around here.
He tried not to think of any weird creatures that might spring up suddenly if the opportunity presented itself. Fighting was another talent he lacked. He had learned to defend himself, to a degree, a few years back but had no real experience.
"Oh um I'm Sesso. You can call me Ses if you want...whichever you prefer." He pushed some of his hair while quietly humming part of Madame Butterfly, the only part he had memorized after listening to it so much.
He yawned some more and quickly covered it up. In all honesty he wanted to know more about Riko and Hiro. If they were going to stay together for who knows how long, there would be no reason not to get to know them better. He sighed and went back to humming Madame Butterfly.

Hiro looked at Riko, nodding to his comment. "I think, though, that if there are predators lurking around, walking around will be enough to annouce our presence...considering how quiet it is around here otherwise..." he shrugged a little as he continued walking.
He'd admit, Sesso was bugging him a little...he seemed completely incapable of having a normal discussion without it being awkward...that and, no matter how many plays and musicals Hiroshi had ever played it, he hated humming...and Opera...But he would try to play fair...unless Sesso turned out to be more like him than already, with a large library and songs in one's head.
For some reason, Hiro was of a personality type that disliked people who were so similar to him, maybe because he felt they were unoriginal, or maybe because people who were like him always tried to out wit him...which didn't work, because his wit was something he crafted over years of dealing with bad potential step fathers...wit was his defense...
He blinked and looked at Riko, then Sesso as he came back to life.
"Anyway, I think, if there are hostiles around, they'll find us even if we didn't say a word...he pointed to himself and his white skin and hair. "After all, you are walking around with a small moon in a very dark landscape..." he said with a straight face.
Fact was, if there were hostiles around, he was sure they would notice a white blob walking around. He was mentally prepared to face anything...be it skeletons walking around with swords, or giant birds with firey beaks...physically, his knees would shake for a while before the adrenaline hit and he started to act on instinct.

"I guess." Riko briefly hung his head and wallowed. Of course, this just looked like a normal thing for him since his mood was partially sporadic and upbeat - anyone who knew anything knew that people similar to him had their mood swings down and up fiercely though they mostly stayed upbeat. He thought, If only they knew, as he peered again into the dark. It was comforting, but he had seen far too many horror movies with werewolves, beasts, and boogie-men lurking in the dark. Plus, he had been on the other side, one lurking, watching--once before, so he knew well what it was like. He knew they stood out like a sore thumb- different, strange clothes, strange language use and slangs- but he also knew the secrets to not being seen, for the most part.
Of course, it didn't help that they trodded around clumsily. Seemed no one else but him knew how to ghost walk, and if no one else was going to ghost walk, then there was no point in Riko ghost walking. He did it anyway.. maybe the dark evils would think there were two and not three and thus would give them the slight advantage should they be attacked? He physically shrugged as he bobbed along.
Riko rubbed his nose in irritation. Something was wrong. He snuffled. Nothing. "Gah, not much humidity here. Poor nose is dry as a desert." He hate this feeling. It always made breathing through his nose irritating because cold air was a helluvalot colder, and the air was more on the cold side now than the warm.

Sesso remained silent for a duration. His humming of Madame Butterfly bothered him and he felt out of place humming while everyone else remained quiet or kept talking to a minimum. It didn't take him long to realize adjusting would take a lot longer than just causally engaging in conversation.
It was no lie that Sesso was horrible at making conversation as well as keeping on flowing with the rest of the party (if there was more than one person at the time.) His many attempts, also extreme encouragement from his crazy voice inside his head, usually were in vain.
He grinned again, having the landscape grasp his attention once more. Sesso really wanted to find some kind of town area so he could rest and gather himself in a more timely fashion, rather then walking for who knows how long in the middle of nowhere. Neither of them knew where to go considering they were just walking in a random direction right now.
"Hmmm?" There was something Sesso hadn't noticed in his pocket. Any and all things concerning school had vanished until now. It was a small watch he kept in his pocket to remind him of the time and day in case he got too wound up in school work to remember. Of course it did him no good as it said 6:49 when it was clearly much later out. "Wonderful..." he muttered.

Focusing ahead again, trying to block out the full length feature film now running through his skull thanks to Sesso's outburst, he spotted the flicker of light again. He was sure now, that he wasn't seeing things...but he wasn't sure he wanted to go that direction anymore..at least not so straightforwardly.
He was surprised his feet weren't hurting, but he wondered a little to himself, how long that had been walking. He raised his arms and wrapped his hands behind his head as he walked, stretching out a little without blocking the path or blocking too much vision...or hitting some one in the nose.
He wanted to stop and give some of the plant life a thorough look, but it looked like the examination would have to wait until they at least had a chance to sit down...He wasn't sure he wanted to issue that idea to the group yet since he had no idea how long they had been walking, and stopping to stare at the plants was something one did when in a place they knew a lot better.
He blinked a few more times, trying to refocus his eyes on the flickering light, trying to see through the trees to a more definite figure that might be causing the flicker...He furrowed his brow and sighed a little, letting his hands down again.
Maybe he was seeing things, and there was no flickering light, just his imagination hoping to find a book or something that might explain this world in a way just walking around wasn't.
He shook that idea off...survival was more important than reading the history of a new area, or world...whichever they had stumbled into.

"Ah!" Riko said quietly but with excitement. He turned alert and precise. He thought he had sensed something odd before. A little twinge of different feeling, plus, he wondered why the forest would be so sparse and pretty much open without anything to make it sparse. Maybe that was why, why being because some place nearby where inhabitants or enemies or a group of wild things that caused the area around to not be so heavy.
He looked a bit around, apprehensive, and spotted that Hiroshi had seen something as well. He gave one of those worried-hums, short, to express his feeling without saying it in case they were actually closer than they thought. He stopped short, and paused in a squat to rest a bit, swaying in energy a bit. "I was wondering what the odd squeaking-type noise was..". There was wind. If the light was something attached to something else, swaying in the wind, thats what it was. It was so faint, he only heard it just after a short gust of wind.

There was something amiss from the expressions on both Hiro and Riko's face. Whatever they had seen, Sesso obviously didn't catch it. He didn't want to ask so he remained calm and looked in their general direction. Creepy wasn't the word to describe this sudden silence. Surreal was more like it in Sesso's opinion. The kind of awkward silence he was used to by now by his peers. What the hell? There is nothing there? None of this makes any sense at all....
And then, as subtle as the wind, a small flicker was seen by Sesso. Whatever it was, it was moving fast as the flicker was at least less than a second long when Sesso saw it. His face quickly turned from amazement to worry as the sudden thoughts of what this could be poured into his head. He randomly listed every possible scenario, each ended with someone dieing or infernally hurt. A bad habit of his, whenever a situation arose such as this Sesso would go through every possible outcome to sort of prepare himself. Sure he was wrong a good chunk of the time but it gave him a kind of comfort feeling so to speak.
"Huh?" he said talking quietly. Sesso started calculating how far away this object or thing was from their current location. It was a ways although to factor in distance you would have to factor in the possibilities of what this object or thing might be. It was making Sesso's brain hurt so he ceased and just continued to stare in the distance.
